Your July SSI Payments Are Coming

In June, people who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) didn’t get a payment because they received two checks in May. But don’t worry—July payments are back on schedule. Plus, there might be an increase in your checks later this year.

What is SSI?

SSI benefits are managed by the Social Security Administration (SSA). They help people with limited income and resources. This includes those who are blind, aged 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability. Children who are blind or have disabilities can also get SSI.

When Will I Get My SSI Money?

Here are the dates you can expect to get your SSI payments via direct deposit for the rest of 2024:

  • Monday, July 1
  • Thursday, August 1
  • Friday, August 30 (for September)
  • Tuesday, October 1
  • Friday, November 1
  • Friday, November 29 (for December)

Why Would I Not Get an SSI Payment?

The SSA usually sends out SSI checks on the first of each month. However, there are a couple of exceptions:

  1. If the first of the month is a holiday.
  2. If the first of the month is a weekend.

For example, in June, SSI recipients didn’t get a check because the first of the month was a Saturday. So, payments were sent out on May 31. The same will happen in August this year.

What If I Receive Other Social Security Benefits?

If you get other Social Security benefits, those will still come on the regular schedule. These payments usually come on Wednesdays. Here’s when you’ll get your Social Security payments in July:

  • July 3: For people who have received Social Security since before May 1997.
  • July 10: For those with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month.
  • July 17: For people with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
  • July 24: For those with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.

So, if you didn’t get an SSI check in June, don’t worry. You should be back on schedule in July. Remember, the SSA has different schedules for different types of payments. Always keep an eye on your payment dates to stay informed.
