As a community organization, Community Service Council (CSC) understands when we face economic difficulties, needed home repairs and maintenance can take a back seat to daily needs. We have a new program to help. Our Health and Safety Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program was designed to assist low to moderate-income owner-occupied households with housing rehabilitation to ensure a safe and hazard-free home.
Our program offers low-moderate income Will County homeowners under the age of 62 years, assistance of up to $10,000 per household toward the cost of health and safety repairs. It is available to assist qualifying applicants with funding to repair municipal/County property code violations. Applicants must live in the property and will be required to complete income eligibility verification. Once approved, properties will be selected on a first-come basis. No outside contractors are accepted. The general contractor duties will be completed by CSC staff and all contractors bidding repairs are licensed, insured, vetted and approved by CSC.
In order to be eligible for owner-occupied rehab assistance, the prospective household must be low-income, which is defined as a household whose total income does not exceed 80% of the area median income (AMI). Applicants are also required to receive financial counseling provided through CSC.
Applications are being accepted NOW! To receive more information about our Health and Safety Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program, contact our office at (815) 886-5000.
